“Moron Of The Week” Inductee Andrew Breitbart Dies At 43

Before you even start ranting against me for writing such a “inappropriate” title for this post, you need to be familiar with Breitbart’s work, and although I’d never wished for him to die nor I’m happy for his passing. However, as Christopher Hitchens would have said: “Give them the credit and fame they earned when they were amongst us” (Hitchens might not have said those exact words, but he indeed practiced it with everyone he criticised, i.e. Jerry Falwell). And besides, I gave the late Senator James Forrester the same honours.

NBC Los Angeles reports:

Breitbart was walking near his home in Brentwood, Calif just after midnight Thursday when he collapsed according to his father-in-law Orson Bean. Someone saw Breitbart fall and called 911. Emergency crews tried to revive him and rushed him to the emergency room at UCLA Medical Center, Bean said.

According to Joe Jervis, Andrew’s father-in-law, Bean, was blacklisted during the McCarthy era for attending Communist Party meetings and was also a vocal proponent for Proposition 8.

Even his last Tweet shows his combative online persona. 

Now, I love how these history revisionists just like to think we won’t remember people’s actual work and fame. Andrew wasn’t the most loved and supported in the GOP, much less in the left. He wasn’t a role model nor a hero!

I had wanted to avoid posting about this, cause A. it ain’t about an LGBT issue, B. cause it all came from GOProud’s backer and notorious liar Andrew Breitbart, C. cause is about one of our straight allies in the US Congress and D. cause I didn’t want to add more fuel to the fire, but I guess me commenting on this won’t add any more fuel to the scandal, cause to be honest, I don’t think there’s more left to burn.

For those who have not been following the news on this, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) was caught tweeting publicly a photo that was intended as a direct message to a woman in Seattle. He said he’s done inappropriate things with other women through the phone, Twitter and Facebook. He’s apologized already.

But the media and the American people won’t let go. To be honest, I had forgotten about the Puritanism, the double moral and double standard that Americans have for each other. 

And the guy who brought this whole thing up, Andrew Breitbart (who According to Salon and The Smoking Gun, may have been in prior contact with the person who appears to have hacked Rep. Weiner’s Twitter account) said he wouldn’t release any more pictures (referring to more explicit ones) because “I don’t think I want to put his family through that type of thing.”

Well, looks like the good intentions lasted for a couple of days cause he leaked the pic of Rep. Wiener’s “weiner” (NSFW) and of course, he’s been carring the picture on his iPhone this whole time (not gay at all, right?).

And now people want him to resign, but on the press conference he never said a word about it. And with all good reason: Why should he?

As Dan Savage said: “Clinton didn’t, Craig didn’t, Vitter didn’t, Weiner shouldn’t”.

The man has balls, cause by not taking the easiest way out (by pleading sex addiction, drug abuse or alcoholism) he’s facing the consequences of his mistake: not being more careful.

Americans obsession of turning a sex scandal into a pathology makes me sick. He’s not sick, he has a computer (as, again, Dan Savage said).

Now, for the LGBT Community out there, there must be more support towards him cause he’s been supportive of us and of other civil rights causes.

Let’s let him deal this with his family (the only ones who should give a damn about it) and let the man do what he does best: Dragging the Republicans to the next century, which on the Republican’s case is the 19th (as Bill Maher would say).
