Meet The Voice’s Gay Contestants
The Advocate reports:

For 10 seasons of American Idol, fans in search of a gay superstar have almost always had to wait until a contestant was kicked off for him to come out — even when the guyliner, teased hair, and viral videos of same-sex lip locks made it pretty obvious. There’s no need to wait on NBC’s new vocal competition, The Voice. The show boasts four gay contestants — two men and two women — heading into the battle round, where they will be coached by the likes of Blake Shelton, Cee Lo, Christina Aguilera, and Adam Levine. And while a couple of them might be eliminated in the next few weeks (in the battle round, teams of eight are whittled down to four when teammates face each other in a sing-off), chances that there will be a lesbian or gay singer competing to become the first “Voice” are strong.Meet Vicci Martinez, Nakia, Tyler Robinson, and Beverly McClellan.

Aguilera Honored by Weho Gay Bar
The Advocate reports:

Christina Aguilera is the first to be honored on the Gay Walk of Fame at the West Hollywood gay bar, The Abbey.PerezHilton.com reports on the honor for theBurlesque star and Dave Cooley for contributions to gay culture.“Tonight, her hand and foot prints will be put into cement, where she’ll be immortalized during the world famous gay bar’s West Hollywood Premiere Party,” according to the blog.

Gay Walk Of Fame? Ok. Well, not saying she’s not deserving or anything , I love her, but aren’t there a few Gay Icons to be considered first? Cher, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross, Sir Elton John, Tina Turner & Dolly Parton are just a few names that come to my mind. But whatever.

Song Of The Day: Christina Aguilera - Beautiful

Queerty reports:

Christiana Aguilera’s 2004 Linda Perry-penned single “Beautiful,” which features a couple homos kissing and a man putting on women’s clothing, is the most “empowering” song of the last decade, according to a survey from the British advocacy group Stonewall. In second was Boyzone’s “Better,” which had the late member Stephen Gately appearing with another man. Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” came in third. Funny how Xtina’s brand of freaks resonated more than Gaga’s little monsters, ey?

Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Shine in ‘The Voice’ Promo

Billboard reports:

With “American Idol” getting down to its top 10 contestants later this week, NBC has unveiled the first promo for its own vocal talent competition, “The Voice.” The Carson Daly-hosted show, which features Christina AguileraCee Lo GreenMaroon 5’s Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as “coaches,” premieres April 26.
“I love that it’s based purely on their voice,” Aguilera gushes in the commercial, which shows the four judges sitting in the red chairs with their backs to the auditioning singers. Shelton explains that the gimmick allows the coaches to not worry about the appearance of the contestants, while Levine counters, “Remember the 70s? There was some sketchy-looking people with some gorgeous voices.”

While “The Voice’s” blindfolded auditions switches up the “Idol” blueprint, a familiar face from the hit Fox show will be showing up on NBC: Frenchie Davis, the “Idol” season two star who was disqualified early in the final round. According to EW, Davis auditioned during a taping last Thursday (Mar. 17) while singing Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” and while Green, Levine and Shelton rejected the singer, Aguilera passed her through to the next round.

This sounds different, in a good way. I’d watch it.
