Music Mogul Clive Davis Comes Out As Bisexual
USA Today reports:

Davis, who is twice divorced, remains close to his family, which includes three sons, a daughter and six grandchildren, and to friends, with whom he vacations regularly.Soundtrack’s aforementioned personal revelation acknowledges “something that my children and close friends have always known, but that I knew I would need to discuss in a biography”: He considers himself bisexual.“After my second marriage failed, I met a man who was also grounded in music. Having only had loving relationships and sexual intimacy with women, I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have that with a male, and found that I could.”Davis is currently involved with another man (who isn’t in show business), “but I never stopped being attracted to women. Bisexuality is misunderstood; the adage is that you’re either straight or gay or lying, but that’s not my experience. To call me anything other than bisexual would be inaccurate.”

Davis has earned multiple Grammy awards and was inducted as a non-performer into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. He’s credited for launching the careers of many legends, including Whitney Houston.

Jodie Foster Comes Out At The Golden Globes
From Mediaite writer Matt Wilstein:
Jodie Foster had the Golden Globes audience on the edge of their seats as she accepted the special Cecil B. DeMille Award. She began by thanking Robert Downey, Jr., who presented the award to her, but quickly went off in a more personal direction, hinting that she was about to announce something big. “So while I’m here being all confessional, I guess I just have a sudden urge to say something that I’ve never really been able to air in public… a declaration that I’m a little nervous about… but I’m just going to put it out there, loud and proud. And I’m going to need your support on this. I am, uh… single.” After the laughter and whistling died down, Foster sort-of clarified her intentions, saying “I’m not going to do a big coming out speech tonight. Because I already did my coming out speech about a thousand years ago, back in the stone age.”

PENNSYLVANIA: GOP Rep. Mike Fleck Comes Out
The Huffington Post reports:

Pennsylvania state Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Huntingdon) came out Saturday.“I’m still the exact same person and I’m still a Republican and, most importantly, I’m still a person of faith trying to live life as a servant of God and the public. The only difference now is that I will also be doing so as honestly as I know how,” Fleck said, according to Politics PA. The Huntingdon Daily News, a subscription-based news service, first reported the story.Fleck, who was married to a woman for almost a decade, said his Christian faith kept him from coming out for years.“I wanted to live a ‘normal’ life and raise a family,” Fleck said. “I also believed that by marrying, I was fulfilling God’s will and I thought my same-sex attraction would simply go away.”Fleck was also actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America — an anti-gay organization — as an Eagle Scout and then as a district executive for the group.Despite the GOP’s resistance to same-sex marriage, Fleck said he would remain with the party because he’s not “a one-issue person.”“The Republican party is all about the government needing to stay out of people’s lives,” Fleck said. “I’m not a one-issue person and it’s not a one-issue party.”

Germany: Chancellor Angela Merkel Tells Pro Soccer Players To Come Out
Pink News UK reports:

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel has become the latest high-profile figure to tell gay footballers that they should not have anything to fear in being open with their sexuality.Speaking yesterday at a sports forum in Berlin,Football.co.uk reports Mrs Merkel saying:“I am of the opinion that anyone who sums up the strength and bravery – and we have a long tradition of this behind us in politics – should know that they live in a land where they have nothing to fear”.She continued: “The fact that there are still fears for some people for their own situation means we need to send out a clear message: you must not be afraid.”Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness said it is only a matter of time before a Bundesliga player comes out.“It will happen, sooner or later. All clubs are advised to prepare for this topic, so they will have good answers,” said Hoeness, speaking at the same event as Merkel under the slogan “Go your own way”.The remarks come just a day after an anonymous Bundesliga player said he feared attacks from fans and even by other footballers, if he went public about his sexuality. The mystery player also believes media attention about his private life would have a detrimental impact for him on the pitch.Last year, Germany striker Mario Gomez said openly gay footballers “would play as if they had been liberated. Being gay should no longer be a taboo topic.”But national team captain Philipp Lahm advised against it in his autobiography.Back in 2009, former German Football Federation president Theo Zwanziger first said footballers should be supported if they want to come out and he repeated the call when he left office in January of this year.York City FC player Clarke Carlisle recently told the UK’s Gay Football Supporters’ Network (GSFN) that gay footballers were “frightened” to come out due to “media” pressure.

Zachary Quinto On Coming Out, Dating Struggles & Celebrity Boyfriend Jonathan Groff
The Huffington Post’s Gay Voices reports:

“I thought about it as coming out from behind the wall. Walls now are only as high or as thick or as strong as we allow them to be.”That’s how Zachary Quinto describes his decision to publicly address his sexuality in a new interview with Out magazine. The “American Horror Story” hunk speaks at length with Aaron Hicklin about coming out as a gay man in a New York Magazine profile last year, and also shares some intimate details on both his childhood and current love life.“One of the most defining conversations that I had with myself was that absolutely no good can come from me staying quiet about [my sexuality],” Quinto continues. “Literally, no good can come from it. But if I take the step to make the acknowledgment and be honest, so much good could potentially come from it.”It may come as a surprise to some fans to learn of Quinto’s earliest dating struggles — something the star partly attributes to having lost his father at a young age. “I found myself in a pattern of being attracted to people who were somehow unavailable, and what I realized was that I was protecting myself because I equated the idea of connection and love with trauma and death,” he recalls. “I had to do a lot of work on the couch to really get to a place where I was able to show up to a relationship with someone who was actually capable of being in one — and that took a lot of trial and error. And I’m still working on all that stuff — that will never stop.”Not only does the 35-year-old actor say he wants children, but he also confirms reports he’s dating fellow actor Jonathan Groff, who can currently be seen opposite Kelsey Grammar in “Boss” and is known for his guest-starring role as Jesse St. James on “Glee.” Otherwise, though, he remains tight-lipped about the relationship, simply noting, “I’m incredibly happy, I’m incredibly lucky.”

Stevie Wonder Apologizes For Frank Ocean Comment
The Advocate reports:

In an exclusive statement to The Advocate, music legend Stevie Wonder apologizes for a previous comment that implied Frank Ocean might be confused about his sexual orientation, saying, “love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man.”In an interview with the U.K. paper The Guardian, Wonder was asked about the media sensation caused by Ocean, the out hip-hop performer whose acclaimed hit album Channel Orange has drawn numerous comparisons with the veteran musician. “I think honestly, some people who think they’re gay, they’re confused,” Wonder said to the paper. “People can misconstrue closeness for love. People can feel connected, they bond. I’m not saying all [gay people are confused]. Some people have a desire to be with the same sex. But that’s them.”Wonder now clarifies his comment with an exclusive statement to The Advocate, saying, “I’m sorry that my words about anyone feeling confused about their love were misunderstood. No one has been a greater advocate for the power of love in this world than I; both in my life and in my music. Clearly, love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man. What I’m not confused about is the world needing much more love, no hate, no prejudice, no bigotry and more unity, peace and understanding. Period.”
