WISCONSIN: Yet Another Faked Homocon “Hate Crime”, GOProud Stood By It
Joe.My.God. reports:

Last week the wingnut blogosphere exploded on the claims of a gay Wisconsin GOP campaign worker who claimed that he’d been brutally beaten for being a gay conservative.  From the right wing Daily Caller:
Kyle Wood, a full-time volunteer working for GOP House candidate Chad Lee, was hospitalized for injuries suffered during what he said was an assault at his home.  Wood told The Daily Caller that vandalism preceding the assault, along with his attacker’s statements during the incident, suggested his sexual orientation and his politics each played a role. “I was getting ready for work and there was a knock at the door,” Wood emailed The Daily Caller late Wednesday. “I opened it, and a guy wrapped a ligature around my neck, slammed my head into the doorway, and smashed my face into a mirror, telling me ‘You should have kept your [f*******] mouth shut.’”“He then kidney-punched me, while at the same time saying I was ‘warned,’ and continued to beat me,” he added. Wood said his attacker’s reference to a warning likely pointed to graffiti he found painted on his car last week. The vandalism included the phrases “house trained republican faggot,” “traitor,” and “ur like a jew 4 hitler.” Those slurs, he explained, were references to him being a gay Republican working to help Lee, a straight GOP candidate, defeat the openly gay Democrat Mark Pocan.  After he discovered the graffiti, Wood wrote an open letter on Facebook to the unknown vandal. “If you understand either freedom or me at all,” he wrote, “you would that this will only make me work harder. … You can think whatever you like about me, but I will not be bullied into voting for a gay man simply because I am gay.”
There were so many holes in Wood’s story, not the least of which were the “injuries” that were clearly inconsistent with his claims, that most LGBT news sites, including this one, did not report the story.  My “silence” on the “attack” spurred GOProud president Jimmy LaSalvia to taunt me on Twitter, ultimately telling me to “rot in hell” for my disbelief.

Today came the inevitable truth.
Kyle Wood, a campaign worker for the Republican congressional candidate Chad Lee, today recanted his statements about being assaulted and choked at his home on Oct. 24, according to Madison police. The department updated its incident report late Monday afternoon after Wood met with detectives. Captain Joe Balles, commander of the South District, confirms that Wood recanted his allegations of the beating. Although he would not go into detail about the case, Balles said, “I updated that press release because I felt it was imperative we get something out there because of the politically charged background this was happening in.” He said that the department will do its “due diligence” and discuss with the district attorney’s office whether any charges will be filed against Wood. ”We’re in the victims business,” he says. “We really need victims to come forward. We don’t take matters like this lightly.”Earlier Monday afternoon, a spokesman for Rep. Mark Pocan and an attorney representing his partner, Philip Frank, said they were considering suing for libel over claims that Frank threatened Wood.Pocan is running against Lee for the 2nd Congressional District seat being vacated by Tammy Baldwin, who is running for U.S. Senate.
This latest bit of outrageous homocon fakery makes claims of being pushed off a bike or having a brick thrown through a window pale in repulsive comparison.  THIS time, the husband of a U.S. House candidate was smeared. Kyle Wood will surely get what is coming to him. But the worst part of his despicable crime is that now our enemies have yet another reason to suspect all future anti-gay violence.

The problem is not being a gay conservative. The problem is being a liar and hypocrite.

“Moron Of The Week” Mitt “Magic Underpants” Romney’s Gay Spokesman Quits
The Advocate reports:

Richard Grenell resigned today after a backlash from social conservatives about his selection.Richard Grenell, the gay man hired last month to serve as Mitt Romney’s campaign spokesman on foreign policy, has resigned after receiving sharp criticism from antigay conservatives.“My ability to speak clearly and forcefully on the issues has been greatly diminished by the hyper-partisan discussion of personal issues that sometimes comes from a presidential campaign,” Grenell (pictured, right) said in a statement issued today to The Washington Post. “I want to thank Governor Romney for his belief in me and my abilities and his clear message to me that being openly gay was a non-issue for him and his team.”It was not, though, for many social conservatives. Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association tweeted that by hiring Grenell, Republican presidential candidate Romney was telling so-called pro-family activists to “drop dead.” In follow-up columns, he wrote that Grenell’s appointment was a “dog-whistle to the homosexual lobby, a way of saying to them I’m with you, not with them” and “all about homosexuality, not foreign policy.”Last week in the conservative publication National Review, Matthew J. Franck questioned Grenell’s loyalty to Romney, writing, “Suppose Barack Obama comes out — as Grenell wishes he would — in favor of same-sex marriage in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. How fast and how publicly will Richard Grenell decamp from Romney to Obama?”The Post reports that Romney staffers tried to dissuade Grenell from resigning, and campaign manager Matt Rhoades told the paper, “We are disappointed that Ric decided to resign from the campaign for his own personal reasons. We wanted him to stay because he had superior qualifications for the position he was hired to fill.”Meanwhile, Log Cabin Republicans executive director R. Clarke Cooper issued this statement toThe Advocate: “Ric made the choice that he feels is best for the Romney campaign, and I respect his decision. It is unfortunate that while the Romney campaign made it clear that Grenell being an openly gay man was a non-issue for the governor and his team, the hyper-partisan discussion of issues unrelated to Ric’s national security qualifications threatened to compromise his effectiveness on the campaign trail. Ric was essentially hounded by the cacophony of the far right and left. The Romney campaign has lost a well-known advocate of conservative ideas and a talented spokesman, but I am confident Ric will remain an active voice for a confident U.S. foreign policy.”

What GOProud Really Wants
Joe.My.God. reports:

Not only does GOProud oppose a federal anti-bullying law, they are cloaking their support for school vouchers by claiming it would protect gay kids. In fact, what GOProudreally wants is to further erode the crumbling public education system by having the government redirect funds to private religious schools. Or as in the case of the Santorums, pay the parents themselves for home schooling. All this “protection” talk is just a smokescreen, folks.

“At a personal level, I wish I had spoken out against the effort. As I’ve been involved in the fight for marriage equality, one of the things I’ve learned is how many people were harmed by the campaigns in which I was involved. I apologize to them and tell them I am sorry. While there have been recent victories, this could still be a long struggle in which there will be setbacks, and I’ll do my part to be helpful…
Most polls now show that a majority of Americans support gay marriage. What you see in Maryland and Washington, and states like New York earlier, is a reflection of politicians representing their constituents.”

-Ken Mehlman-

Former RNC Chairman, who pushed Bush’s Campaign against Same-Sex Marriage back in 2004 (what would eventually made Bush win his reelection), and who is himself gay, has finally apologised for his homophobic campaigns in the past.

RELATED: Joe.My.God. points out that in the last two years Mehlman has worked to help convince GOP lawmakers to support same-sex marriage in several states. However later this month he will also co-chair a high-ticket fundraiser for the reelection for House Speaker John Boehner, who recently tripled the federal budget to defend against the overturn of DOMA.

Moron Of The Week” Inductee Andrew Breitbart Vs Michelangelo Signorile On Outing Homocons

This was posted to YouTube by Victoria Jackson’s “Patriot Update” channel.

Monday, February 20, 2012

“In this political climate, with ‘conservative’ now synonymous with political homophobia, a man who claims to be a ‘true conservative’ doesn’t just default straight. He defaults bigoted. Conservative voters will assume he holds anti-gay political beliefs and they will expect him to vote anti-gay should he be elected to office. So Sheriff Babeu stood to benefit politically—and may have actively sought to benefit politically—from the assumption that he was 1. straight and 2. anti-gay.”

Homocon Ethan Sabo Rants Against Gay Left

You gotta watch this clip first.

When I first ran onto Ethan’s website, I thought I had found the first Homocon I could really understand and relate to. Then, after a few weeks later, I started to see how he was losing his mind when attacked by the Gay Left.

I see where he comes from. He’s not totally nuts. Not totally. He can be eloquent, but he’s starting to lose his shit quite often, now. He’s really bitter (something he complains about us the Gay Left).

As a blogger, I do understand how it feels when people say hateful things about you. I do get my share of hate mail now & then. However, I see it as the “price of admission” for being so outspoken. He seems like he can’t quite handle it. Can’t blame him, thou. Not everyone is cut for this. And he’s clearly not cut for this job.

I do know many Gay Republicans, but the ones I know, are Fiscal Conservatives. They can’t quite see themselves defending and voting for the Presidential Candidates for the GOP we’ve had so far. Many see the Marriage Equality issue as a State matter, not a Federal one. In my opinion they don’t really know the implications of not having our Rights being recognised throughout the Union, and I’m talking just about the Economic ones (something that Republicans most of all should understand and care about).

I do admit that we in the Left, in general, can be really political incorrect when expressing ourselves (I’m guilty of doing that every single week). But if Republicans are good at something (besides of being fiscally irresponsible when governing) is ignoring facts. Every single one of the Presidential Candidates for the GOP are beyond homophobic. And they’re really outspoken about it. So, Why can’t we be outspoken, too? I’m sure they don’t appreciate it when we refer to them as bigots, but are we suppose to give them a free pass whenever they feel like calling us out as sinners/ill/amoral/pedophiles? Fuck no!

I see Homocons as nice people that are willing to tolerate intolerance just so they can blend in in their Conservative circles. I hope they realise the importance of expressing ourselves in more visible ways, like our Gay Pride Parades (which are, by the way, becoming more of a Family Event in North America each year). If they only were aware of how far we’ve come because of demonstrations since Stonewall, Homocons like Ethan wouldn’t have such a concept of them (I should point out, Gay Leaders like Larry Kramer do, in fact, have their issues with the way Parades were being taken away from their original purpose).

And where on Earth has Ethan been at? “Penises all over the place”? Honey, I want the name and address of that place right now. Just FYI, just like the “Joints” for straights, there are all kinds of night clubs for gays, from strip clubs to pubs. So you just gotta find what suits your ass (sometimes, literally). If you found something, it’s probable you were looking.

And at the end of the clip, he is so out of his mind that it seems like he’s justifying Gay Bullying, somehow insinuating that it’s our fault for being so queer/flaming/flamboyant. Well, take a good look at yourself before you rant against other queens, bitch.

And how open minded Ethan really is? He falls into the same game his attackers play. Hating back makes him more like his haters, doesn’t it?

GOPround Hosts Homocon 2010

Oh No, She didn’t!

The Advocate reports:

Gay conservative group GOProud has released a video highlight reel from its Homocon event that featured Ann Coulter — “the right-wing Judy Garland” — in New York City last month.

The video includes remarks from GOProud leaders Jimmy LaSalvia and Chris Barron, and PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel, who hosted about 150 supporters for the event in his Union Square apartment. Thiel makes the obligatory jokes about President Bill Clinton, Marxist-Leninist poetry readings, and the Church of Satan.

However, the star of the reel is special guest Coulter, who delivers a speech akin to stand-up comedy. Curiously, the reel does not include her widely reported remark to the crowd that marriage “is not a civil right — you’re not black.”

What does  the last speech means? “We are not gonna play by their (Gay Liberals) rules”

WTF?

Isn’t Gay Marriage something that we all want? Isn’t anti-discrimination laws and anti-hate crimes something we all want? I can understand if there’s Gay Fiscal conservatives, but to call themselves Republicans?! I’d rather call myself an Independent than a Republican. Republicans have done everything in their power to make of us second class citizens. I cannot relate to them at all.

Would you?

Ann Coulter talks about why she opposes Marriage Equality & the Repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell on Larry King Live. She basically repeated what she had said on Homocon’s GOProud fund-raising event last week.

Michael Lucas vs. Ann Coulter.

Political Analyst Ann Coulter and Porn Entrepreneur Michael Lucas (never thought I’d ever write something like that) had a little confrontation during the Q&A section of the Homocon fund-raising event for GOProud over the weekend.

Also, Michael Lucas mentioned to have sent an email to Ann Coulter a couple of day later. Here’s a piece:

  • Dear Ms. Coulter:
  • You are telling us that you love gay people, that you appreciate our talents and creativity, that you are happy and excited when we move into your neighborhoods, and that you have many gay friends. But your base is still filled with homophobic people. Most conservatives (including George W. Bush) think that homosexuality is a choice. I am sure you know that this is not true, that we are born gay, and we can’t change our sexual orientation. However, lots of Americans who listen to you do not understand this.I believe if more conservatives understood that homosexuality is not a choice, they’d be less inclined to judge us, spew hate toward us, and oppose our civil rights. They’d stop sending their sons and daughters to “reparative” therapy and finally put an end to the rhetoric that contributes to the high suicide rate among gay teenagers. You have real power to explain this to people. And this is not about just talking to some “conservative Christian groups,” as you told us at Homocon. Why won’t you take a brave, on-the-record stand on conservative TV and radio shows — from Fox News to the many other media outlets where you’re a frequent guest? Will you take a public stand supporting gay people as deserving, if not marriage, then (at the very least) civil partnerships and an end to “don’t ask, don’t tell”? Would you also tell them that there’s no reason to try to change a son or daughter who’s gay, because you believe there’s nothing wrong with being gay?
