Minnesota: House Homocon Robert Oscar Lopez Testifies Against Own People

Joe.My.God. reports:

Robert Oscar Lopez is one of the three homocons who filed an anti-gay Supreme Court brief against marriage equality. Today he traveled to Minnesota to once again commit a moral crime against his own family.

UPDATE: At this writing Lopez is now testifying before the state Senate, where he just declared himself to be “the gayest person in the room.”

Son of a bitch.

NEW YORK CITY: Murderer Pleads Insanity In Grisly 2011 Killing Of His Boyfriend
Joe.My.God. reports:

In January 2011 New York City’s tabloids published daily grisly updates in the case of Portuguese model Renato Seabra, who stabbed to death and then castrated his wealthy and renowned fashion photographer boyfriend with a wine corkscrew in a midtown hotel. Seabra told the NYPD at the time that he had murdered Carlos Castro in order to free him of his “homosexual demons” and that he himself was “not gay anymore.” Yesterday Seabra’s lawyer pleaded an insanity defense. A 2011 court filing from the defense advised the court that Seabra believed that he was acting on direct orders from God. Via Gay City News reporter Duncan Osborne:
“Mr. Seabra developed a manic episode and became fulminantly psychotic,” David Touger, the attorney for Renato Seabra, wrote in a court filing last year. “He acted on his delusional ideas when he attacked and killed Mr. Castro. He did not appreciate the wrongfulness of his actions, as he was acting as a conduit for God.” This mental disease or defect defense, or insanity defense as it is more commonly known, asserts that because the now 22-year-old Seabra could not tell right from wrong when he killed Castro, he cannot be held criminally liable. If a jury agrees, Seabra will be institutionalized until doctors decide he is no longer a threat. His trial may start as soon as September. At a June 18 hearing, Touger and Maxine Rosenthal, the assistant district attorney who is prosecuting the case, said they wanted to go to trial soon. While some earlier press reports have noted that Seabra would use an insanity defense, none has noted that he claimed to be acting on God’s behalf. Seabra faces one second-degree murder count that alleges he intended to kill Castro. The maximum penalty for second-degree murder is 25-years-to-life.
According to a psychologist hired by the defense, Seabra suffered from “Bipolar I Disorder, Single Manic Episode, Severe with Psychotic features.” Seabra first came to national fame in Portugal after appearing on a male model reality show.

Moron Of The Week: Pussy-Married Mormon & Gay Torturer Josh Weed

Not sure if he’s really gay himself or not. If he’s not, he’s guilty of trying to pass as such for the only purpose to gain the trust of his victims. He’s an Ex-Gay Reparative Therapist.

He made some comments recently, which went viral on the blogosphere, stating that although he’s gay, and his wife know about it, he’s happily married and says to enjoy a really good sex life.

And if he really is gay, I only see him as worst than peeps like Tony Perkins or Bryan Fischer. At least they’re true to their bigotry.

Is Some Homophobia Self Phobia?
Science Daily reports:

Homophobia is more pronounced in individuals with an unacknowledged attraction to the same sex and who grew up with authoritarian parents who forbade such desires, a series of psychology studies demonstrates. The study is the first to document the role that both parenting and sexual orientation play in the formation of intense and visceral fear of homosexuals, including self-reported homophobic attitudes, discriminatory bias, implicit hostility towards gays, and endorsement of anti-gay policies. Conducted by a team from the University of Rochester, the University of Essex, England, and the University of California in Santa Barbara, the research will be published the April issue of theJournal of Personality and Social Psychology. “Individuals who identify as straight but in psychological tests show a strong attraction to the same sex may be threatened by gays and lesbians because homosexuals remind them of similar tendencies within themselves,” explains Netta Weinstein, a lecturer at the University of Essex and the study’s lead author.

NEW JERSEY: “Ex-Gay” (Ha Ha) Greg Quinlan Demands Apology From NJ Lawmakers
On Top Magazine reports:

Greg Quinlan on Thursday demanded an apology from New Jersey lawmakers.Quinlan, the president of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX), a group that claims homosexuality can and should be altered, became heated testifying in front of the New Jersey Assembly Committee considering a bill which would make New Jersey the seventh state to legalize gay marriage.“I want to talk first of all about something I heard from the very beginning by people of this Legislature that we are bigots as people of faith, because we do not hold that homosexual marriage should be codified. That somehow we are bigots and we are ideologues because we are people of faith. I want to address that hate,” Quinlan testified. “Everyone in this room who is a person of faith deserves an apology from one of the sponsors of this bill for calling us bigots.”Chairman Peter J. Barnes interrupted Quinlan, reminding him that no one on the panel had used such language.“To date there is zero evidence that anyone is born a homosexual, zero,” Quinlan continued. “In fact it’s homosexual researchers and scientists that are proving that homosexuality is not innate and had no biological ideology.”“Homosexuality is not immutable. … There are many ex-gays; Anne Heche, to name one, Sinead O’Connor and myself. I left the homosexual lifestyle almost 20 years ago. Lived as a homosexual activist for 10 years of my life.”Quinlan insisted that “homosexuality is not a civil right.”

ATLANTA: Bishop Eddie Long’s School To Close After Gay Affairs Scandal

Joe.My.God. reports:

He paid settlements to four young men, his wife filed for divorce, and now Bishop Eddie Long’s New Birth Academy has abruptly announced that it will close before the end of the school year.

The letter sent to the parents of students cited decreased donations and enrollment, as well as a bad economy, as the reason for the closing. It also said that school officials would help parents find other schools to enroll their children for the duration of the 2011-2012 school year. Although the school denies any connection between the decision to close and the many recent scandals connected to Eddie Long, some parents are skeptical. “I don’t believe that. I believe that this last straw with the divorce, the sealed settlement, it just does not look good,” said one parent to WSB TV Channel 2.
Long will have to console himself with his Bentley, his private jet, his sprawling mansion, and the many millions that he extorted from his former fans.

Moron Of The Week: Tony Fabrizio
For being such a moron by going after his Community (but then again, he was a closeted case). Even GOProud went after him. He’s “Moron Of The Week” Inductee Rick Perry’s strategist. He’s clearly has something to do with Perry’s latest homophobic campaign ad.

Secret Conference Held To “Save Exodus International” From Ruin

Ex-Gay Watch

Exodus President Alan Chambers called a meeting together this past November 16.  The subject was quite simply how to keep Exodus International from social and financial oblivion.  In attendance were Exodus leadership, prominent religious leaders (such as Gabe Lyons) and lay people.  The latter were mostly those who once counted themselves in the ex-gay camp but now are either in the process of changing their views or are fully gay affirming. We had been following odd activity at Exodus for some time.  It was clear that something was up but only after being contacted by some of those directly involved did our speculation clarify into fact.  The past couple of years have seen Exodus cut it’s staff, lose key alliances, and suffer from a general moderation in American views toward homosexuality.  So difficult has this been for them that they have increased efforts abroad where there exists less formal opposition to their message — that living a gay affirming life is sinful, wrong and unhealthy, and change is the only way to truly please God.Three years ago, Exodus purchased a building for a little over $1.1 Million.  This was at the height of the real estate bubble and it’s value must have decreased significantly since.  While they seem to have shed as many of their obligations as possible, debt service for that building must be a great draw on their meager resources.  According to IRS documents, they burned through $200,000 of their savings in 2010 alone.  In short, if they continue on their current trajectory, there seems little doubt that Exodus will fold in the near future.Knowing this, Chambers called the New York meeting together and posed the question, “how can we save Exodus?”  Unfortunately for those of us who might have a glimmer of hope to the contrary, this plea does not seem to be based on any deep, inner change of heart or ideology.  According to first person accounts, the emphasis was on how to make Exodus more “donor accessible.”  The meeting was filled with the modern lingo of those who advise on the solicitation of charitable funds.  This is about money.Chamber’s apparently wishes to “re-brand” Exodus into something more palatable to those with funds to give, and the general public alike.  According to our sources, Chambers said that “everything is on the table.”  That everything apparently includes the possibility of his resignation.  It was also clear from the meeting that this is their last resort, their “Hail Mary” so to speak — they’ve tried everything else.  Indeed, it seems certain that Chambers would have made pleas to anyone he knew with money before taking this drastic action.  And we’ve all seen the odd inconsistencies apparent in their public face.  Exodus is an organization fumbling for a solution.Chambers mentioned how struck he was by the response to John Smid’s recent change in direction, particularly his apology.  He seems to think that doing something similar might be one way that Exodus could gain some positive attention.  Don’t forget, everything is on the table.  We have confirmed that Smid has been in contact with Chambers recently, and has plans for more discussions in the future. It has been our understanding that there is no love lost on Smid by Chambers, so any future corroboration would likely have a more practical basis. While more detail may come in a future post, we know that Chambers plans to make some announcements at the Exodus Leadership Conference in January, 2012. Speakers unusual for such an event have been invited, along with a church communications expert who was also present at the meeting.  It may be through their voices that Chambers will frame the plan for re-branding Exodus. It will be after this conference that Exodus announces whatever it is they decide, presumably some sort of apology which allows them to maintain their core ideology, while claiming to have gone about expressing it badly — too much truth and not enough grace, etc.  Perhaps they will take on the name of the title holding company they created when they purchased the building, The Worthen Legacy Group.  Chambers seems to be enthralled by The End of Sexual Identity lately, so that might also provide a clue to their new direction. Our sources would speak on the record only on condition of anonymity, however after cross-checking we feel confident that what we have chosen to report is sound. We agree with their reasons for wishing to remain anonymous, at least for the time being. In the coming months when you hear of changes from Exodus, or some event that seems heartfelt and spontaneous, or whatever this re-branding may eventually consist of, remember what got the ball rolling — money.

We had been following odd activity at Exodus for some time.  It was clear that something was up but only after being contacted by some of those directly involved did our speculation clarify into fact.  The past couple of years have seen Exodus cut it’s stafflose key alliances, and suffer from a general moderation in American views toward homosexuality.  So difficult has this been for them that they have increased efforts abroad where there exists less formal opposition to their message — that living a gay affirming life is sinful, wrong and unhealthy, and change is the only way to truly please God.

It features those closeted cases that have been caught in scandals. It’s quite informative, and should give you an idea of what kind of people they are: mostly Christians, conservative, and very outspoken homophobes.
