Transgender Givenchy Model Scores Mag Cover
The Advocate reports:
Lea T, a former assistant to Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci who has starred in the label’s ads and editorial features in French Vogue, has scored a fashion mag cover in the new issue ofLurve.
The cover is a first for the transgender model from Brazil, who wears Givenchy couture and is photographed by Carlotta Manaigo.
”The couture dress and marble columns add to the feeling of classical drama, but Lea brings a presence all her own to the shoot,” Models.com editors wrote. “[S]tyled by Maher Jridi, Lea looks phenomenal and the striking cover makes for another boundary breaking first.”
Cher And David Letterman Discuss
Her Son Chaz Bono’s Transition
Joe.My.God. reports:
They both stumbled repeatedly over their pronouns, but last night Cher and David Letterman had a frank discussion about Chaz’s transition and what the difference is between being gay and being transgender. Cher’s loving support is amply evident and Letterman’s questions and comments show that perhaps he learned something after being widely criticized for an anti-trans skit early this year. Let’s hope the language police aren’t too hard on either of them for their his/her missteps. Context, and all that. The bit about Chaz begins at 12:30 in the first clip and continues through the second. (Note that these clips are not from CBS and may disappear from YouTube.)

Home Project 5: Young Trans Woman
THE HOME PROJECT is a performance piece developed from the true-stories of Chicago-area youth who have been disowned because of their gender or sexual identities. Many of the stories come students away at college. In this clip, a young trans woman experiences life on the streets after being kicked out of home by her mother.
