Donald Trump Tweets Well Wishes To Rosie O’Donnell After Heart Attack

The Huffington Post reports:

Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell, two media personalities known for their mutual disdain of one another, seemed to make peace on Tuesday.
Following news of O’Donnell’s heart attack, Trump tweeted her a get well message:

”.@Rosie, get better fast. I’m starting to miss you!” Trump wrote. O’Donnellquickly responded, jokingly asking if the NBC “Celebrity Apprentice” host was “trying to kill her.” She thanked him and admitted his post “was a bit of a shock.”
Trump and O’Donnell seem to never shy away from conflict with one another. They attack one another over Twitter and through Trump’s infamous, and incredibly high quality, video blogs.
Late last year, Trump criticized O’Donnell’s new show on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), calling the program a “complete and total disaster.” He also said he “felt bad” for O’Donnell’s fiancé. O’Donnell fired back by calling him “an ass” and attacking his self-proclaimed wealth.
O’Donnell suffered a heart attack last week after feeling chest pains and nausea. She took a Bayer Aspirin and later went to the doctor, who told her that her LAD was 99 percent blocked.

Trump’s tweet was not only surprisingly kind towards O’Donnell, but also generally lighter than recent messages. For whatever reason, he seemed pretty moody as of late. Perhaps Trump hit up a yoga class or recently finished a juice cleanse and is feeling rejuvenated.

United Kingdom: Tom Daley Gay Hate Tweet Footballer Arrested

A footballer in South Wales has been arrested following an anti-gay tweet about Olympic divers Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield.
The message on Daniel Thomas’s Twitter denigrated the diving pair, neither of whom is known to be gay, after they lost out on medals at London Olympics synchronised men’s 10m diving this week.
It said: “If there is any consolation for finishing fourth at least Daley and Waterfield can go and bum each other #teamHIV.”
Daniel Thomas, 28, a semi-professional midfielder with Port Talbot FC denied he had sent the homophobic tweet. According to a club statement at the time, he had been the victim of a “prank”. Both the club and Mr Thomas apologised “unreservedly” for the message.
Mr Thomas was suspended by the club pending an internal investigation.
Police have now issued a statement saying: “South Wales Police has arrested a 28-year-old man from the Port Talbot area in connection with offensive comments made on the social networking site Twitter.
“The man was interviewed at Neath police station and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
Club chairman Andrew Edwards confirmed with the BBC it was Mr Thomas, saying: “He was called in by police and arrested yesterday [Wednesday] and is on conditional bail.
“It will be some time next week so, pending the police investigation, he’s still under suspension.
“We’ve taken legal advice and, when the police inquiry is concluded, we will deal with it from then.”
Earlier this week and regarding another case of Twitter abuse Daley suffered, Simon Reed, the vice-chairman of the Police Federation, the body for rank-and-file police officers, told The Times that they were “having to make it up as they go along” with regard to social media.
Mr Reed said: “There is legislation which concerns causing harassment, alarm or distress. If you are walking down the street and someone shouts abuse the law is there to deal with it, but can we police every incident on the internet when someone upsets someone else? I don’t think we have the resources to do that.
“What is needed is some clear guidance from the CPS or the Attorney General about where the line is drawn.
“We can’t have a free-for-all online but by the same token we cannot involve the police every time something unpleasant is said.”

Cher Appears To Leave Twitter After Advocating For Changing Minds & Hearts In Favor Of LGBT Rights

Tweets sent from Cher’s account praising a pastor who said gay people were “not God’s best work” have drawn confusion from fans.
Cher had praised the welcoming nature of pastor Joel Osteen, who has said homosexuality is a sin, after buying his latest book.
She tweeted: “I love Joel Osteen,hes example of Christian!He makes Every1 feel welcome 2 his church no matter who they R!1st book like this I ever bought.

“I know this Sounds CRAZY Coming From ME,But he’Cool,UpBeat,wants u 2 have Fun,He’sFunny & Not Preachy! don’t care if ppl think I’m UnCool!”

A follower replied: “Umm… not everyone. He’s pretty uncool about gays.”

Cher, who has over 700,000 followers on the micro-blogging site, replied: “But IM NOT!Proved this my WHOLE LIFE! We have a BOND! Christians hav hard time,but WE COULD HELP CHANGE THIS.”
Discussing the civil rights advances in the US in her lifetime, she said: “In my lifetime ive seen many things change ! When i was young it was against law 2 b Gay,4 blk & white 2 mary,women 2 control their Bodies, 4 gays to get married & on & on! Chaz could be out & loved! Anything can change when we make ppl c us loving human beings!”
Cher then appeared to indicate she was leaving the micro-blogging site: “If u can cut me loose because i think we can change what pple believe today then my heart is broken! Maybe im naive to believe everything can change but gay pple have stayed w/me through 40 yrs when every1 else left! If i broke our bond & u hav no love 4 me anymore this is my last txt.
“U hav been my best Friends!My Heart has broken MANYx’s because ive lost 1 of U!I hav Sat w/U til last your LAST BREATH!I will ALWAYS LUV U.”

No further tweets have been sent since last night.

One follower wrote: “I am shocked by the lack of respect for others in social media. Advice to @cher (and others): ‘Think before you tweet’”.
Jake Shears added: “Honey, this gay has all the love in the world for you.”

A hashtag, #PleaseDontLeaveCher, was started to convince the star to stay on Twitter. Some commentators have suggested her account may have been hacked.

Joel Osteen told Oprah Winfrey last year gay people would be accepted into heaven if they “changed”, equating the process with anger management:

She’s right. Many things have changed during her lifetime. People are capable of evolving. And come on! She’s a freking Gay Icon! How can anyone doubt about her support towards our community? Hope she comes back.

Sweden’s Twitter Account Controlled By Lesbian Truck Driver This Week

The country of Sweden is known for lutfisk, stoic, tall Nordicolk who would make perfectDie Hard villains, furniture, and getting the fuck along. Now, the country’s got a new face: and she’s a lesbian who drives a truck for a living.
The New York Times reports that Hanna Farge— who refers to herself as “just your average lesbian truck-driver” in the account’s bio— has been selected to run the country’s Twitter account this week, as part of a campaign called Curators of Sweden that was up by the Swedish tourism bureau. The effort aims to create what they claim is the world’s most democratic Twitter account, and, in showing the world the voice of individual Swedes, convince everyone to go on vacation or start their businesses in Sweden. The tourism bureau explains,

• The idea is that the curators, through their tweets, create interest and arouse curiosity for Sweden and the wide range the country has to offer. The expectation is that the curators will paint a picture of Sweden, different to that usually obtained through traditional media.

What Swede would you like to see running the country’s Twitter account next week? I’m torn between Robyn, that creepy woman from The Knife, Muppet Chef, and Zombie Alfred Nobel. But I’m open to suggestions.

The Huffington Post’s Twitter Account Hacked By Foul-Mouthed Homophobe

At 2pm on Sunday, a hacker who identified himself as “cloverfdch” hacked into the Huffington Post’s Twitter account and started sending out anti-gay messages to its nearly 1.5 million followers.
Arianna must be furious!
One tweet was directed at HuffPo’s Gay Voices channel, another was a greeting to “gay boys” (at right). Cloverfdch claims an affiliation with the New York Post, but no connection has been established.  (In his first hacked tweet, Cloverfdch calls Wes Anderson a “gay boy” in a response to a HuffPo article about the director’s comeback.)
By 2:10pm, however, the tweets were already deleted. And it doesn’t appear that the site itself, now co-owned by AOL, was hacked.
